The Maca plant (Lepidium meyenii) grows in the Peruvian Andes at an altitude of over 2000 metres. It reaches a growth height of about 20 cm and forms sweet-tasting tubers, which were already used by the Incas as food and medicine.

Maca offers an excellent blend of carbohydrates, proteins, fibre and minerals and is therefore an excellent part of a healthy, balanced diet. Maca is also said to promote physical fitness and the ability to concentrate.
